About Me

Hi, I'm Bill Northdown. I worked as an electromechanical engineer for 15 years, maintaining and repairing shoot-em-up and racing driver simulation arcade machines. But the pandemic caused a decline in the industry, and I was made redundant. With a passion for retro consoles and 80s-style arcade machines, I launched Retro Game Repairs as part of the COVID regeneration scheme. From my garage, I repair old arcade cabinets, convert money slots to allow free play, rebuild cabinets, replace artwork, and fix controls. I offer services to private owners or sell refurbished devices to collectors. It's challenging yet rewarding, and I'm excited for the journey ahead.

About Me!

I'm Jess Northdown, a Game Designer with a keen interest in virtual reality and modern gaming. I obtained a foundation degree in Game Design, but during the lockdown period, I struggled to find full-time work. My parents, Bill and Peppa, employed me to administer their company, which allowed my mother to restore graphics and artworks while I handled day-to-day operations. Despite their initial disapproval of my interest in gaming, my extensive knowledge in the subject makes me a valuable asset to the company. I now work full-time as the receptionist, greeting visitors with a warm smile and answering questions on gaming with ease.

About Me!

Hi, I'm Robert Salt, and I'm Peppa's older brother. I used to be an arcade tournament champion, and I received training from the Navy in radio operation and maintenance. This made me skilled in circuit board repair, and when Bill and Peppa moved to their new premises, they hired me to assist with some of the more complex repairs for older consoles. I have an archived collection of spectrum classics and Atari classics, and I'm well-versed in 8-bit gaming, consoles, platforms, and devices. I've yet to encounter one that I haven't been able to salvage and return to its former glory days.

About Me!

Hi, I'm Pippa Salt, an ex-arcade tournament champion with a passion for traditional arcade games. I first met Bill in a street fighter tournament during college, where we were both studying. We share a mutual love for 8 and 16bit gaming devices and have collected a wide selection over the years. After graduating, I worked in a design agency creating illustrations and promotional materials for code studios, including game artwork. Unfortunately, I was made redundant during the lockdown. My husband and I then decided to found our own company, Retro Game Repairs, with Bill and his brother Robert.
